On-Campus TPEG
The On-campus TPEG provides aid for educational expenses while at LC.
Guidelines for determining eligibility and awarding TPEG funds:

Grants are to be made only to students who have been admitted to LC as a regular student and enroll in the term or terms for which the grant is awarded.

Minimum enrollment required will be half-time status. (Fall/Spring 6 SCH) (Summer 3 SCH).

Grants will be awarded based upon financial need of the applicant.

Financial need will be determined using the federal methodology as determined by submitting a FAFSA or TASFA application.

Priority will be given to students with a calculated EFC of 1600 higher, or as otherwise deemed necessary by the institution except in the case of nonresidents who will be awarded based on financial need.

Students must be meeting the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.

Up to ten percent of the funds set aside for the Texas Public Educational Grant may be used to provide short-term tuition/fee loans to students.

In accordance with Texas Education Code, Section 51.9095, male students must file a Selective Service Statement of Registration Status with their institution or other entity granting financial assistance. For more information about the Selective Service System, visit sss.gov

Convictions of Felonies or Offenses Under the Texas Controlled Substance Act. Have not been convicted of a felony or crime involving a controlled substance (Formerly Controlled Substance Restriction) The eligibility requirement found under TEC, Sections 56.304 and 56.305 for Toward EXcellence Access and Success (TEXAS) Grant and under Sections, 56.404 and 56.405 for Texas Educational Opportunity Grant (TEOG) includes the phrase “a person is not eligible to receive a grant under this subchapter if the person has been convicted of a felony or an offense under Chapter 481, Health and Safety Code (Texas Controlled Substances Act) …”. This phrase relates to convictions of any felony, as well as convictions of any offense under Chapter 481. The phrase is not limited to controlled substance felonies.
Texas Educational Opportunity Grant (TEOG)
Funding is limited, so applying early to FAFSA is key!
This grant provides assistance to eligible students for payment of tuition and fees.
To be eligible for the TEOG (Initial Award) a student must:

Be a resident of Texas

Show financial need (EFC < $6454)

Have applied for any available financial aid assistance
-
Have graduated from a TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL with a BASIC DIPLOMA or GED
-
Have not been convicted of a felony or a crime involving a controlled substance
-
Is enrolled at least ½ time in the first 30 hours (or their equivalent) in an associate's degree or certificate program at a public two-year institution or higher education.

Not to be concurrently receiving a TEXAS Grant
-
Not have earned an associate's or bachelor's degree
- Must be registered with Selective Service, or be exempt \
To be eligible for the TEOG (Renewal Award) a student must:

Meet all the requirements for a first-time award with the exception of the EFC

Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

At the end of the first year (IY), meet the institution's academic requirements

In the remaining years (RY) maintain a 2.5 overall grade point average (GPA) and complete 75% of the hours attempted in the prior year of college
- Must be registered with Selective Service, or be exempt
TEOG eligibility ends when you:

Student acquires associate's degree

Student receives the TEOG up to 75 attempted hours

Student receives the TEOG for four years from the start of the semester or term in which a student received his or her initial award of the TEOG
